Harbor House Teams with Beasley to Aid Victims of Katrina

AUGUSTA, Georgia - Augusta-based Harbor House Publishing will donate eight baskets of books to the Beasley Broadcasting online auctions to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The eight radio stations of Beasley Broadcasting have pledged to donate the proceeds of their online auctions to The American Red Cross to benefit the hurricane victims.

Harbor House's eight book baskets contain genre-themed titles geared toward the listeners of each of the different stations. There are two Southern literature baskets, one Light Reading basket, one Oldies-themed basket, two news-themed baskets, one Christian literature basket, and one Rock & Roll basket.

"As soon as we heard about the chance to help, we knew it was the right thing to do. We know Augustans love to read, and they have big hearts. The Beasley Broadcasting Stations' auctions were the natural choice for us," said Publisher Carrie McCullough.

The auctions are accessible from the radio stations' Web sites.
