Sheldon inks deal with Harbor House for Al Pacino biography

AUGUSTA, Georgia — David Sheldon, noted Hollywood screenwriter, producer and director, has signed a deal with Augusta-based publisher Harbor House to pen a biography of world-renowned actor, Al Pacino.

Best known for his work with motion pictures and television, Sheldon most recently produced and directed The Legend of Dark Mountain, which was screened at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.

The biography, tentatively titled When I Knew Al, is co-written with screenwriter, script doctor and director, Joan McCall. Prolific and in high demand, McCall has written moe than 50 screenplays.

This candid and often surprising memoir is told through the experiences of Pacino’s friend and first mentor, the late Ed De Leo.

A shared love of the acting craft and common Bronx origins initiate the actors’ friendship, which remains intact – even as their careers take divergent paths.
When I Knew Al delivers fascinating insight into the life of a supremely talented Hollywood icon through the eyes of someone who knew him back when.
