Harbor House to attend 2005 national Book Expo
AUGUSTA, Ga. — For the first time in its eight-year history, Harbor House will attend the National Book Expo in New York as an independent publisher.
The largest publishing event in the United States – and the second largest in the world – Book Expo is a Mecca for book industry professionals, featuring top authors, publishers, agents and more.
Most recently represented by National Book Network, before ending the three-year relationship to independently sell and distribute its growing list of titles, Harbor House was originally represented by BookWorld.
The Augusta, Georgia-based publishing company will have a booth on the Main Level, along with all other national publishers, international representatives and national distributors.
During the event, Harbor House will unveil upcoming titles, as well as two new imprints – Strictly Southern and the new horror line, BatWing Press. In addition, the publisher will introduce new book series, including The Mayor’s Guide, which chronicles favorite and little-known ghost stories of title cities.
Harbor House authors participating in this year’s Book Expo include: David Sheldon and Joan McCall, When I Knew Al (fall 2005); William Rawlings, The Tate Revenge (fall 2005), The Rutherford Cipher (fall 2004), and The Lazard Legacy (spring 2003); David Healey, Rebel Train (fall 2005); and Mary Ellen Cooper, The Greeter (spring 2005).
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," said Carrie McCullough, associate publisher. "At the same time, this is just the beginning of new traditions for Harbor House. We will continue to grow and continue to build a prominent position in the publishing community."
