WELCOME TO THE IVORY TOWER OF
BABEL:
Confessions of a Conservative College Professor
By Mike Adams
May 2004
Rediscovering the 'Ivory Tower of Babel' in post-modern America
AUGUSTA, Ga. - From atheist and Democrat to Christian and Republican.
And that's
just the start for a conservative professor at the University of North
Carolina-Wilmington who has authored a bold new book about his experiences
as a "token" college conservative.
Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel: Confessions of a Conservative College
Professor, unmasks the truth behind liberalism's "iron grip"
on the nation's college campuses and challenges the notion that cultural
diversity has been healthy for American society, according to author Dr.
Mike Adams.
"This movement has actually reduced the amount of diversity on campus,"
said Adams, who started his career at UNCW in 1993 as an atheist and supporter
of Bill Clinton.
"In the process it has created a chaotic, out-of-control environment
not unlike the Tower of Babel story in the book of Genesis that now threatens
the First Amendment."
Adams' political and religious views changed from liberal to conservative
in 1999 when he joined a church and became a born-again Republican. It
was after he stepped
away from the liberal point of view that he began speaking out against
the lack of diversity on college campuses and the "steady march toward
chaos and anarchy" at many of our nation's institutions of higher
learning.
The title is both timely and shocking as it addresses hot button issues
such as campus crusades against Christ, man-hating lesbians, chasing "Whitey"
and fighting cultural insensitivity, the cost of diversity-and what all
this means to oblivious parents.
Adams places much of the blame on the failed dreams of socialism and weak
university administrators who allow anarchists to ban mainstream religious
practices from college campuses while approving movements such as 'Queers
for Christ" and feminist
courses that advocate the castration of men.
Adams gained national attention last year defending himself against a
charge of libel
in a high-profile free-speech controversy that landed him on top-ranked
national shows, including Rush Limbaugh, CNN, and Hannity & Colmes.
Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel has been called one of the
most important books about postmodern academia to come along in years.
Readers-especially parents-will be shocked to learn what they're teaching
students on university campuses today.
