Conservative Book Club picks Harbor House title
AUGUSTA,
Ga. - The Conservative Book Club has selected Harbor House's lead Spring
nonfiction title, Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel: Confessions
of a Conservative College Professor, as an alternate feature for its
members.
Based in Washington, D.C., the club is the nation's leading political
book club, acquiring only the best titles by the most prominent and distinguised
authors. Previous authors selected include Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity,
Michael Savage and Bill O'Relly.
Mike Adams, a professor of criminal justice at the University of North
Carolina-Wilmington, spent 10 months researching and writing Welcome to
the Ivory Tower, a sassy satire that pokes fun at liberalism's
"iron grip" on the nation's college campuses. The book challenges
the notion that diversity has been healthy for American society and provides
page after page of examples of liberal excesses in academia.
"We're so proud of Mike and how well this book is being received
all across the nation," said Carrie McCullough, marketing director
for Harbor House. "But being named to the prestigious Conservative
Book Club is a special honor and opportunity we didn't expect."
Welcome to the Ivory Tower, scheduled to be released May 15, has
already sold through its initial print run and will probably go back to
press by its official publishing date, according to publisher E. Randall
Floyd.
Part of the value of being selected to the Conservative Book Club is the
recognition and publicity such a selection generates.
"We couldn't afford this kind of free publicity," Floyd added.
"Plus, it's a big honor to
be chosen by any book club, especially one of the size and quality of
the Conservative Book Club, the leading book club in the country."
Author Mike Adams gained national attention last year defending himself
against a charge of libel in a high-profile free-speech controversy that
landed him on top-ranked national television and radio shows, including
Rush Limbaugh, CNN and Hannity and Colmes.
