Harbor House makes literary history
with popular talk radio program
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Harbor House, the Augusta-based book publishing
company, is
making literary history this summer with one of the most listened-to “book
talk”
radio programs in the nation.
Peach State Public Radio’s Cover-to-Cover show, hosted by St. John
Flynn, will profile two Harbor House authors in May and June. Two
Rivers, authored by retired Augusta schoolteacher Naomi Williams,
will be broadcast Sunday, May 25 at 8 p.m. The Lazard Legacy
by Dr. William Rawlings Jr. of Sandersville will be broadcast Sunday,
June 29 at 8 p.m.
Publisher E. Randall Floyd said it is a “fantastic honor”
to have three of his company’s titles featured on the popular radio
show, almost back-to-back.
“Cover-to-Cover is the most prestigious book review program in
Georgia and one of the best in the nation,” he said. “To have
three of our titles selected to be profiled this summer is a rare and
special honor. I don’t know of any other publisher, whether in New
York or Atlanta, who has ever scored this big.”
Floyd’s own recent Civil War novel, Deep in the Heart,
which originally aired two years ago, was re-broadcast two months ago
to coincide with Public Television’s re-release of the Ken Burns
Civil War series.
Competition among publishers to have their books and authors featured
on Cover-to-Cover is fierce, Floyd said, adding that host St. John Flynn’s
criteria for selecting titles is “awesome".
