Jim Daher, an Atlanta native and graduate of Southwest High School, attended Southern Polytechnic Institute (Southern Tech), while participating in its co-op program with the Lockheed Georgia Company. Interrupting his studies, he accepted a temporary assignment with Lockheed working with the C-5A test team at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

After returning to Atlanta, he earned an Assistant Engineering Degree from Southern Tech and was recruited by the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham to work as a Management Engineer and later as an Assistant Administrator. While attending night school at UAB, he earned a BS and an MBA.

Jim accepted his first role as administrator with Hospital Affiliates, International, Inc. in Colby, Kansas. Progressing to larger hospitals, and eventually into multi-health care facility management, required several relocations and company changes. In 1990 he founded Quality HealthCare, Inc., a company specializing in treating psychiatric and addiction disorders.

After a successful career in health care, Jim decided it was time to pursue another dream– writing.

Jim and his wife live on St. Simons Island, Georgia, with their three cats and Colby, their second English Springer Spaniel. Colby and Spenser, a black Persian who merely tolerates Jim, watch while he completes the second Sarah James adventure.
